The Royal Canadian College of Organists seeks an experienced Project Manager to ensure the successful planning and delivery of Organ Festival Canada in Vancouver, 2027.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will perform a lead role in the planning and delivery of Organ Festival Canada in Vancouver, BC in July 2027. Organ Festival Canada, our national Festival and conference, is the main meeting place for Canada’s organ music community and our most important outreach initiative to engage with the public.
The Project Manager will develop Festival plans, long-range timelines and deliverables, manage the budget, ensure that the Festival aligns with artistic and cultural objectives, and goals are met. The Project Manager will take direction from the Organ Festival Canada Committee, seek input from the Local Centre, and work closely with the Executive Director.
This is a part-time position that requires increasing availability closer to and during the event, including some evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be based in the Vancouver area with the ability to work remotely, participate in meetings (online or in person) as needed, and the capacity to be on-site during the Festival. The rate of pay is $30.00 per hour and the desired start date is January 19, 2026.

Key Responsibilities of OFC Project Manager:
- develop project plans and execution strategies, set deadlines, manage project scope from initiation to completion
- support Organ Festival Canada committee in developing schedule and programming
- secure performance venues and performers and coordinate with artists and stakeholders, handling relationships professionally
- manage project budget, track expenses and cash flow
- solicit funding through grant applications and sponsorships
- manage event logistics
- coordinate program booklet production
- develop a marketing and communications plan in collaboration with the national office and local representatives
- perform administrative tasks, such as contracts and documentation
- recruit and coordinate volunteers for Registration, Front of House, and preparation of Delegate Kit Bag (TBC)
- plan hospitality and receptions (TBC)
- monitor project progress and flag risks or delays proactively and report on project outcomes to the Executive Director.
Qualifications
- minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management
- strong skills in planning, scheduling, budget management, and risk assessment
- excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and relationship management abilities
- high level of organization, detail orientation, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- understanding of the arts and culture sector, including the importance of public engagement
- familiarity with the organ music community an asset
- technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive (Docs, Slides, Sheets), and email marketing platforms (MailChimp, Constant Contact, or similar)
- familiarity with project management tools (Gantt or similar) an asset
- self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
