Choral Conducting (Ch.RCCO)

This more advanced choral exam is suitable for candidates who have more extensive professional experience conducting choirs at an advanced level, and requires some formal knowledge of conducting technique. In addition to conducting a choral rehearsal, candidates will be tested on keyboard skills and will complete two written papers including questions on harmony, analysis, and composition as well as choral techniques, history, and literature. No prerequisites; candidates already holding the Fellowship diploma (FRCCO, FRCO, or FAGO) are exempt from Paper I.

Fees
Complete diploma at one session - $400
One section of diploma only (including repeated exams) - $300

Dates
Examinations take place once a year in the spring. Registration opens on February 15, 2024, and applications must be submitted by April 1, 2024.

Written exams will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Practical exams are held during the last two weeks of May. Following the close of applications on April 1, the Board of Examiners will select Examination Centres for the current session according to the number of applicants and their locations. Candidates will be informed of the time and place of their examination. Candidates may be asked to travel to a nearby centre. In Toronto, practical exams will be held May 24 & 25, 2024.
