We are deeply saddened to share news of the passing of Fred Kimball Graham.

Dr. Graham was Associate Professor Emeritus of Church Music at Emmanuel College (University of Toronto), where he was appointed founding director of Canada's first Master of Sacred Music program. Originally from Durham region, just east of Toronto, he began his musical education at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, pursuing further studies at the Berlin School of Church Music in Germany and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, before completing a doctorate in liturgical theology at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.

Over a long and distinguished career, Dr. Graham presented organ recitals throughout eastern Canada, as well as in the United States, England and Germany. In addition, he held positions including Music Director at All Saints' Cathedral in Halifax, Adjunct Professor at the Atlantic School of Theology and Dalhousie University, and Officer for Worship and Music at the national headquarters of the United Church of Canada. 

A member of the Royal Canadian College of Organists since 1966, Dr. Graham became a Fellow of the College in 1971, and received the Distinguished Service Award in 2021.
