The RCCO holds an Annual Festival each summer. It is hosted by different Centres from coast to coast across the country. In even-number years, Festivals are shorter (typically 2 ½ to 3 days) and in odd-number years typically 4 or 4 ½ days.
A College Festival serves two main purposes. Firstly, it offers members professional development, through hearing international top-class organists and choirs perform a wide range of repertoire (including some premier performances), and through workshops with recognized authorities in their fields. Secondly, the College conducts official business, such as Convocation, to present diplomas, certificates and prizes, and to recognize significant contributors. Other College events are the College Worship Service, Annual General Meeting and National Council.
Many feel the greatest reward of attending is the opportunity to meet informally with colleagues from across the country to gather information and inspiration.
The next Festival will be in Montréal as a joint festival with the American Guild of Organists - Northeast Region (formerly Regions I and II). The festival will run from July 1-7, 2017 based at the Sheraton Centre Hotel.
In 2018, the festival will be hosted by the Calgary Centre.
